Swinard Wooden Floors

Specialists in the installation of timber flooring, Swinard Wooden Floors Limited is Canterbury owned and has been working throughout the South Island for over 25 years. We are involved in every aspect of the flooring process, from meeting with the client to the final finishing details. Our company assures the highest level of workmanship and customer service.

We offer a wide variety of wooden floors, to suit anything from small apartments to sprung floors in gymnasiums. We can create a new floor, overlay an old floor, or repair or extend an existing floor. Along with polyurethane finishes, we also offer oils, waxes and colour stains to add an element of difference.

Experienced in both commercial and residential settings, we work with architects and designers as well as individual clients. We supply a wide range of solid timber flooring (both tongue and groove, and parquet). These can be finished by applying stains from pale whitewashes to dark chocolate brown/black and everything in between. We also supply an extensive range of quality prefinished engineered flooring, covering a wide selection of timber colours and finishes.

Swinard Wooden Floors are committed to being eco-friendly. We attempt to source our timber, wherever possible, from sustainably managed forests, and in so doing, help to maintain the native New Zealand forest landscape for future generations. We take great pride in the quality of both our materials and workmanship.

The potential for creating a truly unique floor is limited only by your imagination. Mixing wood species, specialist inlays (such as circles or stars), and parquet laid in patterns (for example, chevron, basket weave or herringbone), can all add a distinctive style to an interior. They will also add value for many years to come, in both traditional and contemporary settings. Most patterns are full thickness, but they can also be laid into existing floors by grinding down the top surface and inlaying thinner wood blocks to create the design. Give us a detailed drawing of what you would like to achieve and we will complete it for you.

Improvements in technology and increased knowledge of laying techniques have added to the variety of floors that we are now able to offer. For example, wide timber floor boards can be laid directly onto heated concrete slabs due to improved glues and increased knowledge of the moisture content of both concrete and timber. This means tongue and groove floors can be placed directly onto new concrete subfloors.

After discussing your flooring options and requirements with you, our comprehensive quotes leave nothing to surprise and we aim to work in with your building budget. Each floor comes with our guarantee and our after sales service means we are able to remedy any problems that occur.

Swinard Wooden Floors enjoy the challenge of the new and interesting designs we undertake. The large variety of flooring projects we have worked on over the years are testament to our high standards and quality of workmanship.
